About GloveboxAnswers

The owner’s manual in your glovebox has most of the answers, if you can find them. We pull them out, check them against the safety standards and put them in plain words.

What we do

When a light comes on or the car won’t start, you need a quick, right answer: what it means, whether you can keep driving, and what to do. GloveboxAnswers gives that answer, with the source next to it.

We start with warning lights and starting problems, then tires, maintenance and towing, with tools that look things up for your vehicle.

Where the answers come from

From primary sources only: carmakers’ owner’s manuals and support pages, the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards that every car sold in the US must meet, and the EPA and tire industry bodies for their own subjects. How we source our answers explains the method.

What we are not

We aren’t mechanics, and we aren’t affiliated with any carmaker. Cars differ by make, model, year and trim, so your own owner’s manual and a qualified technician have the last word. When a warning concerns brakes, steering or overheating, stop safely and get help.

Found a mistake?

If something doesn’t match your owner’s manual, tell us. We check it against the source and fix the page.
